Yesterday post breakfast

For lunch, we went to Baton Rouge with the kids (who loved it). I had
a prime rib sandwich smothered in onions and cheese, with an
altogether ridiculously huge serving of french fries; I didn't finish
the food but still had an awful lot. For dessert, we shared a slice
of chocolate cake. This was a very large meal although in the end I
did not feel stuffed.

Dinner was a small bowl of Optimum Power with 1% milk.

raisins, a couple of squares of chocolate, and a couple of handfuls of
brown M&Ms.

Breakfast

A bowl of Optimum Power and a cafe au lait, both with 1% milk, plus
about 1/4th of a chocolate croissant.

At the office, as our coffee machine is broken, I had a mocha
smoothie. Turns out it's not quite the same thing - I usually don't
put banana in my coffee.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Part 1 (with my boys): A little over half a cinnamon croissant

A few days worth...

Breakfast: Not sure, probably a bowl of Optimum Power with 1% milk.
Brunch and Lunch: My wife bought four or five different pastries; I
had about 2/3rds or 3/4ths of these through brunch and lunch.
Afternoon snack: Again operating on the "I'm sick so I can eat
anything" logic, I had a slice of birthday cake, two small scoops of
frozen yogurt, and a few raspberries.
Dinner: 60% (8.5/14ths) of a medium-sized thin-crust pepperoni pizza
from Domino's, plus a glass and a half of wine, and a can of beer.
Evening snack: A couple of sterkir molar and a handful of ogre-sized M&Ms.

Saturday:
Breakfast: Not sure I remember... probably a bowl of Optimum Power
with 1% milk.
Lunch: A "Style of the Avenue" breakfast at Chez Nick's (two slices
bacon, two breakfast sausages, a scrambled egg, two pancakes, and home
fries), half a slice of toast, and a cafe latte.

Dinner: Veal, gnocchi andbrown butter sauce, three slices of
baguette, and a glass of red wine.

Lunch through Dinner

Lunch: Salmon with coconut rice noodles and greens. Slightly large portion.
Afternoon snack: A handful of dried fruit and nuts.
Dinner: Two slices of corn bread and one bun from "bun bread", all

M&Ms. I'm a bad boy and deserve to be punished.

Tuesday dinner through today morning

Tuesday dinner: About 15 pieces of various sushi (mostly maki).

Wednesday:
Breakfast: A bowl of Optimum Power with 1% milk, plus a couple of
bites of what my boys were having.
Lunch: A three-egg frittata with ham, and a green salad with a little
dressing. My brother-in-law joined me for lunch at work, and his
smoked salmon pasta looked much better than my styrofoam frittata.
Afternoon snack: Sweet'n'salty bar.
Afternoon binge: I went home early because I was sick. Operating on
the ubiquitous logic "I'm sick so I can have ice cream", I had half a
mini-tub of Liberté vanilla frozen yogurt, a slice and a half of
yesterday's cake, and maybe 10 pita chips with spinach dip.
Dinner: My wife's famous peppercorn filet mignon steak, with
Bearnaise sauce, broccoli, corn and french fries, plus a glass and a
half of red wine. For dessert, probably half a slice of yesterday's
cake, two scoops of ice cream, and some raspberries.

son's bread with peanut butter.
Morning snack: A handful of dried fruits and nuts.

Yesterday's dinner & today until afternoon

sauce, with hummus. I also had something like 3-4 pita chips while
feeding my boys, one of them with a bit of peanut butter on it.

Breakfast: A bowl of Optimum Rebound with 1% milk.

Lunch: My wife's (family) birthday party; I had a small slice of
Framboise Royale cake (very decadent chocolate cake), about 2/3rds of
a croissant aux amandes, one-fourth of a carrot muffin, and something
like three buns out of a bun-type-bread thing with raisins (very white
bread) with spread and cheese.

Afternoon snack: A sweet'n'salty bar.

Dinner and hangover

Dinner was a sandwich of Italian cold cuts, goat cheese and olive
tapenade on baguette served with salad and just a touch of dressing.

Late tonight I had THREE (yes count them) Caramel Thick chocolate
bars. The hangover made me do it!!

Lunch & afternoon

Lunch was tilapia with green onions and ginger served with vegetables
and rice (left some of the rice, making this a small-to-medium-sized
portion).

For an afternoon snack, I had half a (fairly small) chicken salad sandwich.

Dinner & its consequences

Dinner last night was my wife's delicious pesto chicken, with grilled
eggplant and garlic bread. Two helpings. With quite a few glasses of
wine. Followed by a couple of beers and drinks.

Breakfast this morning was a sweet'n'salty bar and half a hot dog bun
with spread. Yes I know.

Second breakfast was a Bacon McMuffin. Sometimes you just have to go
for the good stuff.

Elevensies was nothing, but would have been funny.

So far, so good

I was very good yesterday, I get a star! That brings me up to five

Today has been pretty good so far:

with small amounts of full-fat milk (1% was out).
Lunch: Chicken salad sandwich, whole grain bread, green salad to go
with it, very little dressing.
Afternoon snack: A cheese stick (80 kcal).
Early light dinner (there will be another much later tonight): Same
as lunch but only half of the sandwich (all of the salad, with less
than a teaspoonful of dressing).

Dinner

Exact same thing I had for lunch. Yay for variety!

Of saints and angels

Yesterday night, after dinner, I had quite a lot of ogre-sized
chocolate M&Ms. They're just too good.

Today I've been good:

Breakfast was a bowl of Kashi GoLean Crunch and a cafe au lait, both
with 1% milk.

Lunch was a vegetarian cheeseburger with a green salad and only a tiny
bit of dressing. The serving size was average to somewhat large.

Afternoon snack was a smoked cheddar cheese stick. I've also had two
cafe au laits at the office so far today, with 1% milk.

The rest of an unhealthy day...

Lunch: A hamburger with goat's cheese and bacon, a bunch of fries,

Dinner: A bowl of Kashi GoLean Crunch with 2% yogurt and blueberries,
preceded by 2 Oreo Waferstix and followed by 2 more Oreo Waferstix.
Ouch.

For dinner, three slices of whole wheat baguette with hummus and a

stix (70 kcal), followed by half a handful of súkkulaðirúsínur and
half a Draumur.

For dinner yesterday my wife and I went to Les Ramparts (93 rue de la
Commune est) and had a pretty good meal.

Aperitif: Vodka martini (Skyy vodka) with a twist.
Amuse bouche: A puff pastry with foie gras mousse; quite tasty if not
100% freshly baked.
Appetizer: Mosaic of foie gras, duck breast and prosciutto with figs,
and a glass of sweet Gewurztraminer.
Main course: Veal fillet with broad beans and roasted potatoes, and a
glass of red wine. This was good, kind of salty and rustic.
Dessert: Chocolate cake, Bailey's cacao sorbet in a glass, and red
fruit, accompanied with a Café Calypso (like Irish coffee with rum
instead of whisky).

After dinner, I had a Long Island Iced Tea at a club nearby.

Saturday, September 1, 2007
